Tue 24 Jan 2006: Home v Margaret Roper, Primary Schools League B
Score: 4 - 2
Report: After having much of the play Olly scored with a header after 13 minutes. However, a handball in the penalty box gave Margaret Roper the chance to equalise in the final seconds of the first half. Michael had no chance in saving the well-taken penalty so it was 1-1 at half-time. Goals came quickly in the second half. First Tom scored and then Olly made it 3-1 in the first minute. 2 minutes later Margaret Roper pulled one back to make it 3-2. 3 minutes after that (21 mins) Olly scored his third goal to claim the first hat-trick of the season.

Tue 17 Jan 2006: Home v Chipstead Valley, Primary Schools League B
Score: 2 - 0
Report: Christ Church had most of the play during the first half and they were rewarded with a goal from Tom 1 minute before half-time. Again Christ Church had the ball in Chipstead Valley's half most of the time and the hard work paid off with a goal from Sam after 28 minutes to make it 2-0.

Mon 9 Jan 2006: Home v Hayes, Primary Schools Cup 3rd round
Score: 4 - 2
Report: Christ Church dominated the first few minutes of the match scoring three times with goals from Tom in the 2nd and 5th minutes and James in the 4th minute. However Christ Church let Hayes back into the game and they pulled one back after 9 minutes. At half-time the score remained 3-1 to Christ Church. Christ Church increased their lead with a goal from Olly after 23 minutes. Hayes again pulled one back with 2 minutes to go but it was too late so Christ Church won 4-2 and go through to the Quarter-Finals.

Wed 14 Dec 2005: Home v Orchard Way, Small Schools Cup 2nd round
Score: 0 - 1. Well done Christ Church.
Report: Orchard Way were a very impressive team and took the lead after 8 minutes. Christ Church battled very hard and came close several times. Their passing was excellent and they played out of their skins. This was definitely the best performance from the Christ Church team against very strong opposition from a different division. Unfortunately the score remained at 0-1, knocking Christ Church out of the cup.

Tue 6 Dec 2005: Away v Coulsdon, Primary Schools League B
Score: 2 - 2
Report: Coulsdon took the lead after 4 minutes and went 0-2 up after 5 minutes. Christ Church fought back well with Olly pulling one back after 8 minutes and then equalising after 11 minutes. Despite good attempts from both teams in the second half, the score remained at 2-2.

Tue 29 Nov 2005: Home v Woodcote, Primary Schools League B
Score: 1 - 5
Report: Christ Church fell behind to a goal after 5 minutes. So 0-1 and Josh, our regular captain, was already being missed. Woodcote found the net three times with easy goals after 16, 18 and 20 minutes to make it 0-4. Sam tried a long shot and Stephen ran onto it and scored to make it 1-4 after 22 minutes. Woodcote again increased their lead with a goal after 28 minutes to make the final score 1-5.

Wed 23 Nov 2005: Away v Chipstead Valley, Primary Schools League B
Score: 1 - 5
Report: Chipstead Valley went ahead after 2 minutes and scored again after 5 minutes to make it 0-2. Olly pulled one back after 10 minutes to 1-2 after an unusual advantage had been played after a Chipstead Valley foul throw. Unfortunately, although both sides were fairly balanced, Christ Church conceded another easy goal after 13 minutes. More silly mistakes in the second half and after 20 minutes and it was 1-4. A shot from Chipstead Valley going wide was deflected by a defender into the net again after 25 minutes. Unlucky James! This summed up the whole game for Christ Church! So the final score was a disappointing 1-5.

Tue 8 Nov 2005: Home v Smitham, Primary Schools League B
Score: 3 - 1
Report: A first half goal by Josh thanks to Olly's initial shot gave Christ Church a first half lead after 10 minutes. Smitham equalised 2 minutes into the second half. However, two goals by Olly after 20 and 24 minutes sealed the match for Christ Church.

Wed 2 Nov 2005: Away v Margaret Roper, Primary Schools League B
Score: 2 - 3
Report: After 3 cup games without defeat Christ Church met their match. Margaret Roper pressed forward and often found four against two as Christ Church's midfield failed to drop back. It was no surprise when Margaret Roper took the lead after 12 minutes. Christ Church fought back and equalised 2 minutes later. Josh took advantage of the short pitch with a long shot which was touched in by Olly. So 1-1 at half-time. In the second half Christ Church's attacking midfield helped with the defence. However, Margaret Roper still managed to score a second to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes. Again, 2 minutes later Olly equalised, this time with a header glanced past the goalkeeper. After 25 minutes Margaret Roper took the lead once more. Despite further close efforts from Olly, the score remained at 3-2 to Margaret Roper.

Tue 11 Oct 2005: Away v Kensington Avenue, Primary Schools Cup 1st round replay
Score: 3 - 0
Report: Christ Church dominated the match. The whole team passed the ball well with occasional runs from everyone. Olly had a good effort that was saved by the goalkeeper. Tom rushed in and knocked the ball in the net to make it 1-0. Sam followed up another save from one of Olly's shots and made it 2-0. There was a strong wind against Christ Church in the first half and Michael (GK) managed to push the ball onto the bar from a long shot and kept the ball out of the net. Sam scored his second with a fine effort. Excellent performance.

Mon 3 Oct 2005: Home v Kensington Avenue, Primary Schools Cup 1st round
Score: 1 - 1 (after extra time). We’re still in the cup.
Report: The ball was in Kensington Avenue’s half for most of the match. Despite lots of shots at the opposition’s goal, the first half was goalless. An unfortunate, sloppy goal minutes later gave Kensington Avenue a 1-0 lead. Christ Church continued to dominate and, inspite of excellent goalkeeping, Olly (man of the match) scored a well deserved equaliser. The final whistle blew with the score at 1-1 so extra time was needed. The defence was under little pressure as the attack pushed forward for the winner. Sadly it never came, so a replay beckons. Everyone had a good try. We’ll score more in the replay.

Mon 26 Sep 2005: Home v Forestdale, Small Schools Cup 1st round
Score: 4 - 1. Well done Christ Church.
Report: Christ Church dominated the early moments of the match and deserved their 4 minute 1-0 lead taken by a header from Josh. Christ Church continued to attack leaving Forestdale with opportunities to break. Michael (GK) pulled off an amazing save as he dived down to push a ball destined for the goal just around the post for a corner. Christ Church failed to get the ball in the back of the net in spite of several attempts, and finally the inevitable equaliser came from a Forestdale counter attack. So it was 1-1 at half-time. Christ Church continued to pressurise the Forestdale goal and goals came from Olly after 21 minutes (2-1) and then Tom with two goals after 24 and 27 minutes (4-1). In the second half Forestdale did push forward but Michael (def) defended well. Although not getting onto the score sheet, Sam showed skill on the left and James had a fantastic game on the right. Excellent effort by all.
